      General: The following is a re-typed transcript of George E. Cripps’ hand-written journal describing his activities in the Spanish American War in Cuba as a member of the 34th Michigan Volunteer Infantry. The journal covers the period June 6 through September 6, including the trip to Cuba, and home. Service. The 15th Michigan Infantry was organized at Ypsilanti and Detroit, Michigan, between Octo , and Ma , and was mustered into Federal service for a three-year enlistment on Ma The regiment was mustered out of service on Aug Total strength and casualties. The regiment suffered fatalities over the course of the war. Allegiance: Union.
